Hello and happy Sunday to you. Hope you are enjoying a wonderful weekend. Relaxing one here, didn’t start off so smooth but got better!  Had dinner with friends, visited with an out of town friend, hit a local nursery and all in all, a nice weekend. We have had some beautiful weather which has been so nice, love sitting outside late afternoon to take in the sun.  I can’t believe we are nearly in May! 2024 is slipping by really really fast.

We are starting to make some headway in our massive warehouse cleanup. It’s a major process and will take months but we are making baby steps. We have a warehouse sale coming up this week which is really worth checking out, so many great deals as  we “clean house” and make room for some beautiful and existing new things heading this way.

Ok, onward to my post this Sunday…..

1 SPRING AROUND HERE Spring is in full bloom and I am loving evert second it. I cannot wait to use our lattice bars, found these incredible delphiniums and put them in a favorite ginger jar put me the mood to throw a little party:)

I LOVE these new blue and white cups (4 styles) which I will be using as cups for individual appetizers! (these are now online, click here)

Pickelball season is alive and well over here

And seeing everything in full bloom is such a treat to wake up to, appreciate every day that I get to see these beautiful flowers

2 A NEW HOTEL I MAY HAVE TO VISIT Always fun to hear and read about new hotels. I especially love smaller boutique type hotels and both of these are in the U.S. In case you haven’t heard……

The Dunlin is located in the Charleston Sea Island’s area and looks like a beautiful property, most by Auberge are wonderful. Looks like it has the right amount of Southern charm with modern amenities and that bar alone would make it worth the trip. Click here for more information

Then moving along south to Galveston, Texas is this brand new (still not open) The 1874 House, this beauty has been lovingly restored by a talented mother/daughter team and looks incredible! I have not been to Galveston since I was a little girl but this may just bring me back there. Right now think you can only follow on Instagram, click here

3 INSTAGRAMS OF INTEREST Always a bounty of beauty to share!

4 MY FAVORITE SALAD THAT IS ON REPEAT AT LEAST 1-2 TIMES PER WEEK This is so easy, the key is really ripe ingredients, a little seasoning and you have the perfect salad as a side dish or you can add a protein to serve as a meal. I make it twice a week and normally serve it with salmon or Bronzino.

  • 2 avocdoes
  • 1-2 cartons of cherry tomatoes
  • 1/4 red onion (optional
  • 5 Kirby/Perisan cucumbers
  • lemon juice
  • salt and pepper
  • olive oil
  • Fresh chopped basil or parsley (optional)

Cut all vegetables in approximately 1″ chunks,, (add avocado right when ready to serve) add lemon juice, olive oil, salt and pepper to taste. Add a protein if you want to make a meal out of it. Yum!

5 A 10 MINIUTE MANICURE MACHINE AT TARGET? I thought this was a spoof but its real! Great idea, I wonder how it works. I would think that if this delivers what it says it does, these will soon be popping up all over the place. Who knows maybe even create a small home version..wouldn’t that be neat! At the rate technology is coming out, I wouldn’t be surprised!

6 A FEW NEW GOOD COFFEE TABLE BOOKS If you are like me and believe there is no such thing as too many beautiful coffee table books,  then keep reading. Here are some new fabulous books to add to your collection (available at your local book store of or course on Amazon!)

7 SUNDAY’S SURVEY  Someone asked me this question and thought it would be fun to ask you Would you give up social media forever or never be able to watch Netflix/Prime ever again? For me, it was a no brainer, I would give up social media in a heartbeat to be able to continue to watch movies!

And that’s a wrap for today! I hope you enjoyed my post and if anything particularly resonated with you, let me know. Always like to hear from you. Wishing everyone a great day and relaxing Sunday. Busier one than usual over here, driving out to Sag Harbor then we have dinner plans in the city. Not my normal relaxing Sunday where I get to spend most if it in my lounge cloths but variety is the spice of lifer right? Until next time….

Happy Sunday! We are finally seeing Springtime’s arrival.
That is one beautiful bar! I love books and will be adding a least two of those you recommended to my collection.
I have never been to Galveston, however it is on the list—the hotel looks amazing; actually both you’ve highlighted are lovely.
I enjoy Instagram and Pinterest very much, so giving them up would be a bit difficult. I’m torn. I always appreciate your recipes! Thank you!
Wishing you a great week with lots of sunshine.

I love Instagram and Pinterest. When we want to see a movie we enjoy the theater or rewatch one of a zillion we own in our library. I agree with Maria on Ocean House in Rhode Island. Also Hotel Del Coronado is a historical great one. Beautiful beach there.
