Hi everyone, so happy today is Sunday  and can’t believe it’s May 1st!   I was planning on working in my little garden, but it’s raining so nature is saving me some work. Its been unusually cool so I am crossing my fingers, this is very short lived as it is not good for all the plants I have planted lately.

Hopefully finishing up a book I am reading (The Nightingale, which is very very good) and putting up my feet for at least the first part of the day. Have a friend coming over after lunch and we are going to stop over at another friends party later for Greek Easter. Happy Easter to all my Greek friends:)

I worked like a relentless little elf this past week and am exhausted. Even when its work I love (and I do)….I know when I need to just chill and not move a muscle and at least the first half of the day that is what I am doing:)  So as I do every Sunday, here is what’s on my radar this weekend…..

1 A VERY EXCITING HONOR!  So….a wonderful designers show house is happening in May right out side of Nashville and you will not guess who was asked to be their honorary chairperson! Me:) You can click here to buy tickets for the opening night party….

I was so flattered and honored, and look forward to going down there in a few weeks for the opening party, so for anyone who lives remotely close, come on down! Last minute a powder room became available to do as a designer had to back out so I stepped up to the plate. From afar its a bit tricky but I am determined to make it pretty!! Here is my mood board-

Now the top right lantern (bamboo blue and white) is my own and what I really wanted to use, however its just too big as much as we tried. So I  have narrowed it down to the two below it, the silver and the white one. Leaning towards the silver as the shape is better and I do like the trellis detailing.

UPDATE AS OF SUNDAY MORNING, several requested paint and paper sources- blue paint is Benjamin Moore Twilight Blue and the gorgeous mural is from Paul Montgomery Studios

2, MYRTLE MANIA. I have had a long time love affair with myrtle topiaries, they are so elegant and decorative. They can be fussy too and if ignored even for a little bit, you pay dearly (as I have learned). I love visiting the site of Snug Harbor Farm for myrtle inspiration and lots of GREAT information, afterall they are true experts in the field! Click here to visit them and read all about them….fascinating!

And they do event decorating, love their natural but super elegant touches….

3. FABULOUS FROCKS. Been a long time fan of Alberta Ferreti. I mean if you need a seriously beautiful dress for  a special occasion, they don’t get much prettier. Check out some of the new pieces in their collection…..click here to see more

This is dreamy though I would do a pair of gorgeous strappy sandals not black cowboy boots:)

4. INSTAGRAMS OF INTEREST Lots to love and be inspired by this weekend, Instagram never disappoints….and always delights!

5. NEW BAGS AND A PAIR OF SHOES I LOVE. So got these shoes, these would go under the “splurge but I love them” category which I do every now and then. I usually go very causal during the day with flats but have a few things coming up and these work beautifully with a suit and a dress I will be wearing.

I have a thing for shoes with bows and these were so “Audrey” and classic,  just love them, and have many things that will go with them..so ladylike and feminine. Click here to see

Then this bag is a great every day bag, love the color, the soft leather, priced fairly, its practical and will go with everything, click here

And a much better picture from the shop site, love the tassel detailing too

And this tote is a lot of fun, love the colors, it’s indestructibile, holds everything, great travel tote and…..its on sale! Click here

6. PLACE MATS YOU NEED TO HAVE FOR EVERY DAY STYLISH TABLE SETTINGS! A new friend from Palmetto Bluff sent me these disposable paper place mats from Plat Du Jour and I am in love!

They are so fabulous, come in a big “tablet” so you take off as many as you need at any given time. They come  in sets of 50,  work beautifully with all my dinnerware and are great for indoors and out.

Even my husband was fooled and couldn’t believe they are paper.  LOVE this idea and they come in a few beautiful colors but you know the blue and white is my fave. Click here to order yourself a set….

Yep this is what being an empty nester looks like….don’t remember the last time we sat at our breakfast room table:(

7. CHERRY BLOSSOMS! Oh how I love them……they are all over in bloom right now and being at the flower market a few weeks ago, got me dreaming about where/how I could use them. They are so tall that you really need an event or party for them.

Look at this incredible arrangement at a restaurant we went to on Friday night, they must have been 6 feet tall! I joke that one of my sons has to have a spring wedding just so I can use, I mean he can use cherry blossoms…..

So I came home and did a little version of it on my own of a much modest size-  these are new blossoms (will be online in a week or so) and these might be the most realistic pink blossoms I have seen to date, unless you touch them they honestly look real!

Love your Sunday picks. Always a treat. I can’t wait to see your gray and white color crush. I am desperately seeking pillows for my off white sofa to pull together my mostly gray/white and yellow color scheme. There are plenty of linens and ikats but no rich and luxurious transitional fabrics out there. Looking forward to this coming weeks offerings!

It’s not even 10 am and thanks to you, dear Tina, I am already spending money. Those placemats are too cute. Love all the Instagrams especially the ones that are of babies!! I’m reading Nightingale too and loving it. Hope you have a great week!

Love what you have chosen for the Designers Showhouse powder room.
Hope we will eventually see pictures of it.
Would you share the paint & Wallpaper sources please?
Thanks for all the inspiration!

That bathroom board is gorgeous!! Could you use those pagoda lantern salad plates as soap dish?? Just a lovely Sunday blog!!! franki

Paul Montgomery mural paper reminds me of Belle Meade in the early days.
Perfect for Nashville. Seven on Sunday always so enjoyable. Thank you again.

Hope all of your plantings are ok. They say to wait until May 15. But I’m ALWAYS tempted to plant sooner. Here’s to warm weather!

Congrats on being chosen not only as the honorary chair but also as one of the designers! Looks like it’ll be a beautiful powder room

Tina, congratulations on the show house! I am sure that your bathroom is going to be fabulous! I love the mood board.

As for the dresses, I love the one that looks a little like wall panels with paper and moldings. It is fabulous!

Love your links!

Have a relaxing day!

I am new to your Blog and absolutely love it!!
The Nightengale is what I am reading now and throughly enjoy every page!!

So much to love! Placemats, the mural in your mood board for the show house. Congratulations, I only wish I lived closer! I just wanted to tell you I look forward to your blog showing up in my email. Such a treat for the day!

Once again, such lovely things to peruse on a Sunday afternoon! I would love some china blue/midnight blue wallpaper ideas. I am wanting to use a touch in a bathroom redo but am stuck.

Thank you again, for your blog. I know I am not the only one who learns so very much.

Congratulations on being asked to serve as Honorary Chair of the O’More Showhouse! Love your blue and white powder room ideas. My book club just finished reading The Nightingale. Wonderful book!

Good Afternoon Tina!

I can’t believe you will be in Franklin, TN! We lived in the Nashville area for ten years and loved it. I used to work with Vicki Edwards, one of the other designers in the show house you are doing!
She was lovely! Our address was Franklin but we lived in the Cool Springs area.
I love what you will be putting together and can’t wait to see the room, I know it will be stunning as always.
Be careful you may fall in love with the Franklin area and get that “Farm” you have always dreamed of! HA!
Many blessings, Judith
