I am a psychotherapist, and the themes of virtual therapy—thank God for Zoom—seem to often revolve around how well someone has learned how to be good company for themselves. I’ve noticed in talking with others, as well, that the quality of being comfortable in our own skin, of being able to provide structure for ourselves which is meaningful and live-giving, without exterior “props,” is more often true of women than of men. Don’t want to push that too far, but fwiw.
