Hello there! Hope this finds you well and that you are having a great week. Been very productive over here, and I am very much looking forward to the weekend and some much  needed downtime Have a really good friend coming to stay with us for the weekend so that should be fun. In my warehouse/office, we are  slowly fazing out of summer mode and starting to slowly inch our way to fall/holiday. Truly it feels like summer just started and I am just getting into the groove. Though I say that every summer, it is just too short a season. That said, fall as I always declare is by far, my most favorite season so I am just about ready for it.

I had friends over last Sunday so thought it would be fun to share highlights form that evening. It was a beautiful but hot day and ended up being an even nicer evening with a soft breeze which made dining al fresco a must do. Of course blue and white to the rescue, works every time! With the plethora of hydrangeas, they made the perfect centerpiece. And all of my favorites tabletop items were brought out to set a pretty summery table.

This  post is much  more than just the table, this is hosting a small dinner from A to Z. I am not sure about you, but I love the “behind the scenes” of things even more than the actual event. So here it goes….

I call this the pretty mess……love when my kitchen island is filed with flowers, good foods and all kinds of prep, means something good is happening!

No, wasn’t drinking on the job, was making my rosè sangria! Recipe to be shared on Sunday

Below a few scenes of prep-

The fruit macerating to prepare my yummy Rosè sangria

I always wait to put flowers out an hour or so before especially  in the summer heart, I put everything on a tray and then take them out

LOVE our white pierced footed dish, it is perfect for berries!

I always lay out everything I will use on platters ahead of time for easy assembly

Almost done! Meanwhile setting things up outdoors….

You know my feelings on a blue and white table:)

Just love this soft palette, it screams summer!

And it was nice to spruce things up outdoors too

Right before my guests came, brought these outside

This is making me hungry:)

And I mean , who couldn’t live on a cheese board!

Sangria ready to serve and it did not disappoint!

Moving along to dinner……

Made my baby arugula salad with tomato, fresh parmigiano and artichokes

This heavenly Greek shrimp dish (will share recipe soon)

Greek orzo, always a crowd pleaser!

And these delectable filet mignons with herbed butter

One final shot during desert,  love the glow of candlelight:)
