Hello! So happy it’s Friday……I can’t believe it’s snowing again, it is awfully pretty though:)? First it was supposed to be a “dusting” now I woke up to reports of 5-8″! This will definitely throw a wrench into my day…as I am ultra nervous driving in the snow. I have had a super hectic week with way too many balls in the air and am looking forward to taking the weekend to decompress a bit and feel I have earned some much needed downtime.
Hope your week is going well…..am sure everyone is excited about the Superbowl? For? me, its all about the food and the commercials I cannot lie. Anywho as I do from time to time I share musings taken via my trusty little iPhone, very little narration needed. And here we go….
Hot off the presses from this morning outside, in my robe accompanied by my partner in crime, Teddy
Love the new magazine, Southern Home…feels like an updated Southern Accents, enjoyed it with a cup of tea in my Enchanted Home mug of course:)
That face!
Are these charming teapot chinoiserie pillows not the prettiest! New to the line, just came in:)
A tried and true birthday gift wrapping combination
Reconsidering this paper from long ago for guest powder room, a classic
Sometimes life calls for a great big burger and a container overflowing with fries!
Excellent book guaranteed to move you to tears…..
A few “patients” are leaving the? plant infirmary (aka my laundry room) Cannot believe my amaryllis are still blooming like mad and look at my azalea……
It is dangerous for me to get in orders from Annabel Ingall…I want one of everything literally, too bad these all have to go out…
Loving the new clutches and crossbodys, so chic
A friend brought over this book…..just fabulous, recommend to any fashion lover!
Love my newly recovered antique chairs in Scalamandres Falk Manor then topped it with my newest chinoiserie pillows:)
Just got this scrumptious new color for my hydrangea stems, the palest blue…LOVE! Will be online soon
More monogrammed napkin goodies…
Finally back trying to tackle my poor office in desperate need of a makeover, only sure thing is the rug,? thought this velvet print was fun….
There are times that call for freshly made ravioli! We have an incredible little super authentic Italian shop that has the BEST cheeses, pastas and meats that has people driving in from all over……..you should see the lines out the door at Christmas and Thanksgiving!
Below a few highlights from NY Now, to me there were few highlights as the show was overall disappointing:(
Sasha Nichol’s beautiful things are always a treat
Love these darling little planters in? my kitchen
A favorite Chinese chicken salad from a local restaurant for lunch
Finally doing my dining room drapes!! Found a great dupioni silk, the hardware is almost done and I got in my most beautiful trim from Samuel and Sons
Put an orchid in one of my new silver containers in the lower level powder room…..that is the beautiful Luzon paper from Thibaut,
So thats a snippet of my life (the good parts that is) from this past week! Hope your week has gone well, thank you for stopping in! A few reminders-
I always love seeing your home, but in the snow it’s amazing…and of course, Teddy makes any picture! The pagoda lamps are beautiful – hate the show wasn’t better…Happy weekend!!
Hi Tina. Can you tell me where you purchased Southern Home magazine, Did a Google search which sent me in circles. Loved Southern Accents and look forward to getting my hands on this.
I love the chinoiserie teapot pillows! Don’t laugh but chinoiserie popped up on my spellcheck and the only alternative was trichinosis!!! Technology, you have to love it! I don’t usually make many comments, but I absolutely adore the Falk Manor fabric you chose for the dining room chairs, that is my favorite shade of blue and it looks beautiful! Thank you for sharing. Karen
Love the velvet print fabric for your office and the Scalamandr? on the chair!!!! Looking for a wow accent fabric for stools and/or pillows. The aged brass pagoda looking lamps are fabulous too.
I live in Dallas, but being from CT and having all my daughters and families here in CT, we bought a beach home in Madison, CT 10 years ago when my first grandson was born. We have been in the process of renovating our second home here for the last two years and are finally seeing some light at the end of the tunnel. I’m trying to figure out the finishing touches to bring it all together. I am a huge fan of blue and white and French style, but find I am leaning toward a much cleaner, less decorated look for the house. I like the look of incorporating some more contemporary pieces as a mix, i.e. I may use a Saarinen tulip table between two Ebanista upholstered velvet chairs in an upstairs sitting area. Most of the walls are paneled and everything is being painted Pure White by Sherwin Williams with ebony stained 5″ white oak floors. The furniture is very traditional….mahogany with inlay, but more modern mid blue matching leather sofas (the only color) in the Great Room. Most of the upholstered DR chairs, kitchen stools, guest beds are covered in linen, and MBR drapes in a linen color taffeta. I used Calacatta Cremo in KIT with a giant island 10 x 6.5 and Calacatta Gold throughout the rest of the house. The only other pattern is a Lee Jofa Chinoiserie blue pattern on a cream grass cloth similar to your powder room!
I work with my decorator in Dallas for the major furniture pieces and drapes, but may need some help in putting the finishing touches in place. What e-services do you offer?
Tina, your week looks like a lot of good food, fun and beauty! Love the new pillows. But I always say, Teddy is ALWAYS the best photo in the collage. He is so cute!
Have a great weekend! Be safe driving in the snow!
Good Morning from snowy Massachusetts, dear Tina. Your iphone pics are always a feast for my eyes. Love all your new pillows and the wallpaper for the powder room. I was out in my robe taking pics this am too. Hope you take lots of pics of all the yummy apps you are making for Super Bowl. Have a wonderful weekend, dear friend and keep dry. PS. Always enjoy the Teddy pics.
I love every single thing in your home, it’s breathtaking, I so love viewing your gorgeous home….the snow make everything look so much more pretty, I loveeee snow….
Tina, just purchased one of your silver wine buckets. Can’t wait to receive it! On this post you showed the toile wall paper sample for your powder room. It’s in cream colors. Would you share the manufacturer?Love it! Would love to use in my home too! Best- Donna R
Fresh pasta is the best! We stopped at Eataly in Chicago the other day and I was ooooing and ahhhhing over the selection in their fresh made pasta case. Also, the selection of cheeses….
Tina,
Your blog is always so interesting, inspiring and entertaining! I absolutely love the chinoiserie teapot pillows!! When will they be on line for sale; today, this weekend or next week? Love those pale blue hydrangeas, also. You have such exquisite taste! Glad it is the weekend, also!
Hello dear Tina
Everything is gorgeous, and a pleasure to the senses as always…I didn’t comment earlier in the week but loved your favourite rooms ( some favourites of mine were in your selection )
The pale blue hydrangeas are identical to the real thing, I have some that I dried in the summer and they have faded to that delectable milky blue…perfection
Please send a special pat and love to your adorable Teddy, and enjoy the weekend
Love to you xx
You have exquisite taste, Tina. Love everything you do.
Is that the Pottery Barn Apothecary Sink Console in your lower level powder room? So glad to see you use it. I’ve been contemplating using it in our pool bath.
When you showed your classic paper from long ago that you’re reconsidering for your guest powder room, I thought of some of my favorite papers as an alternative if you can’t find the old one: either South Seas (Resort Collection), Meridian (Teahouse Collection) or Luzon (Enchantment Collection) from Thibaut. And then a bit further down, you show Luzon in your basement bathroom! Too funny!
Oh the snow in your front garden, so beautiful ! Such a beautiful post. I can’t wait to see the drapes for your dining room when they are completed, I’m sure they will be devine. 🙂
