Hi friends and happy Friday afternoon….hope you are well and have had a great week. Mine has been busy, busy, busy with a bit of fun thrown in. I spent my first day “out east” (Hamptons/Montauk) with one of my best friends, and we had such a fun day. It started with a wonderful lunch at the new Baron’s Cove in super charming Sag Harbor. Highly recommend, great atmosphere and a nice menu.

Then we went to the wonderful Coastal Living Showhouse done by Meg Braff and I have to say….it was fantastic! So much so that I took a lot of pictures. A LOT. I know like me, most of you love designer showcases. I love going to them and go any chance I get. I am so happy that I got to see this one, totally worth the trip:) So if anyone might be in the area, highly recommend you go!

And for those who are just too far away, this is for you. Please do take advantage of all my picture taking and grab a cup of coffee or what the heck, its around 5 so a glass of wine is totally appropriate and I do hope you  enjoy:)

Step on in, the colors were so cheery and uplifting from the minute you walked in from the beautiful front porch-

Right off the living room is the kitchen/open eating area-

And then there’s the outside…possibly my favorite part. I wanted to plop myself down right on one of those chaise lounges and then retreat to the beautifully done pool house-

I love showcase homes and this one is a real beauty! So fresh and inviting and the perfect place for a family vacation and lots of entertaining! Love the pop of blue in the kitchen and such a nice change of pace from all of the gray I’ve been seeing for the last several years. Sounds like the perfect day with a good friend!

This is an absolutely beautiful home. the decor is delightful, fresh, innovative and fun!!!
Is there any possibility of getting a reference for the curvy sisal rug,
the bamboo mirror, the palm tree wallpaper that goes over the ceiling, the wall sconces in the pool room, the rug in the dining room?
I love so many things about this house. the colors are smashing!
I am in love with the whole house!

I love your spirit!!! I would love to meet you! You have such great enthusiasm for life! I love almost everything you do… You can see by all my buying of your items…
You are very fortunate to live a life and appreciate it…we appreciate you…thanks…,
All of us should appreciate each day…..none is guaranteed…

Good morning Tina! My favorite room is that white bathroom with the white tub and furry rug, with faint yellow accents. GORGEOUS!!!! And of course, the bathroom with the aqua accented wallpaper!

What fun; I had a friend in Boston who was from that area and it has to be one of the most elegant places…a magical day for you!

Have a fantastic weekend, Anita

For 5 million dollars, this house has too much wallpaper, most of it nightmare-ishly overwhelming. One has to wonder what the quality of the drywall is underneath it all. Maybe the object of all the colors (a new one in every room!) is to draw attention to the house. It certainly draws attention, but not in a good way. I know comments are supposed to be positive; I LOVE your blog and the time and attention you spend on it. However, you could teach these show house people what upscale decor and good taste looks like.

note to coastal living: let tina take over next year. this one is not my favorite from them but it’s probably because i’m old. it reminds me of our family home in the 70s–lattice wallpaper everywhere and the same color combos. i have no right to knock that style since my mom has excellent taste and talent in decorating my childhood houses, but take me back to your traditional blue and white enchanted rooms anyday of the week! bon weekend, lovely.

Have to agree – rather underwhelmed by most of the wallpaper choices. Do love anything with a trellis/rattan pattern, though.
Not sure how the rest of you feel, but I am just so sick and tired of ‘media rooms’ with their oversized barcaloungers! Would much prefer the Ekornes Home Theater chairs/sofas. They have to be the most comfortable chairs/sofas you will ever sit in.
Have used large clear jars for laundry soap for, well, forever. Picked up some great jars at The Christmas Tree Store of all places: mat black metal lids and a mat black ‘blackboard’ label on the front, complete with a stick of chalk. For less than $8 per jar, you can’t go wrong, plus doesn’t every room need a touch of black?

Went to the coastal living show house last week. Oh my it is beautiful!! Loved all of it. The color pallet was perfectly “coastal”. Loved the wall papers designed by the designer.

No thanks. Why didn’t they ask you Tina? All that paper is too much, not sure if I love all this color!
