**Thanks for your well wishes for my sweet niece who was battling a serious case of double pneumonia in the hospital, we are so happy that she is being moved down to a step down recovery floor and will soon be home. We are so excited and grateful for her progress and thank everyone for their prayers and good wishes, they really do work. Back home and back to business. I put the last few finishing touches on my post that had was supposed to appear yesterday, so here it is a day late**
Hello! How is your weekend going? Hard to believe it’s the first weekend of Feb! I for one, will be happy to say goodbye to winter and hello to spring. We have had no snow so very ready for the warmer air to soon make its way in and cannot wait to start seeing spring flowers and green grass! I am ready to fling open those windows and usher in the warmer air! Onward to my Seven on Sunday……….
1 AMAZINGLY GORGEOUS STATIONERY Found this incredible company on Instagram a while back, Lemon Tree Paper Co and its been love at first sight ever since. Just love her designs, so clever, elegant and beautiful! I especially love her wedding invitation/packages that include maps, weekend schedules, the actual invite…….the whole kit and kaboodle.
2 TOUR PATRICIA ALTSCHUL’S STATELY CHARLESTON MANSION Patricia is such fun to watch and we here at Enchanted Home count her as a wonderful customer as well. I have had the pleasure of speaking to her a number of times and she is such a delight, really really sweet and so gracious.
I loved touring her majestic southern home in this video….love her old world and elegant style. Testament to the fact that timeless traditional just never gets old…her home is a treasure trove of all things beautiful. Thought you too might enjoy it, this lady has figured out how to live “the good life”.
3 INSTAGRAMS OF INTEREST No rhyme or reason just what caught my eye this week on Instagram, always so much good to share! And all very random hope you enjoy this weeks roundup!
4 RECIPE ALERT I love a good tuna fish and I am very leery about buying it outside…as it has to be super fresh. So as a result I like to make it myself. I came across this variation of a dill tuna which was SO good. Sure to become a staple, reminds me of one that used to be served at a favorite restaurant many years ago that has since closed. I served mine on two slices of Ezekiel bread and it was so satisfying with a small cup of lentil soup. Guilt free and so delish. Recipe below.
I also used cottage cheese in place of the mayo and you would be surprised how good it was, also made a few changes and noted them below.
2 (5 ounce / 142 grams) cans no-salt-added solid white tuna in water, no-salt-added
Produce
2 Celery, large ribs
2 tbsp Dill, fresh(used more)
1/2 tsp Lemon, zest
1/4 scant cup Red onion ( I did not add the red onion)
Condiments
1 tsp Dijon, yellow
5/16 cup Mayonnaise, real (used cottage cheese instead)
Baking & Spices
1/2 tsp Black pepper, freshly cracked
1/4 tsp Salt (used a pinch if sea salt)
5. INSPIRING VIDEO OF THE YEAR You may have seen this but it just never gets old. I love this story, the coach, the kid on the opposite team, everyone involved in making Mitchell who is developmentally challenged feel like a million dollars and most importantly like he “belongs”, surely a lesson to be seen and shared.
6 NEW PRODUCTS COMING IN SOON! These are not the greatest pictures but what they lack in quality they more than make up for in their beauty:) So excited to soon be introducing these incredible new woven hurricanes and glassware, pleated shades and painted chinoiserie lampshades to the line!! Hope to have them in two weeks or so…stay tuned. Which is your favorite and which are you most excited about? I am honestly torn!
Cannot wait to use some of these in my own home, will offer both lampshades for lamps and sconce shades. For now a pale blue and a soft beige, but other colors will be offered in the future.
And how pretty are the pleated silk fabric shades, will to start be offered in red/white, beige/white, navy/white and pale green/white.
And here are some of the fabulous new basket weave items coming in, oversized hurricanes and drinking glasses!
7 SUNDAY’S SURVEY Always curious to hear how you feel about such a wide variety of topics and this one should be interesting. My eating habits have dramatically changed since March in 2018. I was always very lucky to have maintained a good weight most of my life and basically ate whatever I wanted and I am talking with abandon (think lots of pasta, bread, cheese and more:) BUT then the 40’s and now 50’s creeped in and suddenly it just wasn’t that simple anymore.
So in March I took charge and decided to get back to eating healthy, being healthier and most importantly to educate myself on nutrition. In the process, I accomplished all three- lost my weight that I wanted to lose (met my goal) and as a result now fit back into just about all of my clothes, feel so much better and have more energy. I feel like this was not so much a diet as it was a lifestyle change It does get harder as you get older so I figured there was no time to lose.
Knowledge is power and now I feel informed on what is good for my body and am no longer fooled by gimmicks like “fat free” and “sugar free”. I am eating very clean and very pure and it feels great. Wondering where you stand on healthy eating and maintaining healthy diet?

Never was one to purchase a lot of prepared food or full-sugar sodas, and once son started rowing in high school he became very conscious of what he was eating, so the whole family followed suit. I pretty much just shop the outside perimeter of the grocery store, will buy full-fat/olive oil mayo because I’d rather not take in the chemicals that make an item fat-free, and when I do use it, it’s just enough to moisten whatever I’m making. Have started using more turmeric-based spices (ie. curry), love adding it to chicken salad. Biggest regret is not knowing that all that diet soda we drank in our teens & twenties was actually leaching the calcium from our bones! Also, love Ezekiel bread, has a wonderful nutty under-taste when lightly toasted and is a nice smaller size, so I can have my bread fix and know I’m eating healthy.
Love your videos!! Gonna make your tuna salad…Glad your niece is on her road to recovery and you are back!!!
Looking forward to seeing your new products online…We are getting our rain here finally…Seems like once it started it doesn’t want to stop!!! Have a Terrific Tuesday!!!
Tina, thanks for so many entertaining and helpful blog posts! I have an important question. I am building a new home and am concerned about marble countertops. I know you have repeatedly said that they work, but all the ones I have seen, even the honed ones, become quickly circled and spotted from any liquids. What is your secret? I am considering using quartz, but I don’t want to. HELP!
Just love that photo of Teddy; he looks so happy “frolicking” in the snow.
I am so glad to hear that your niece is doing better. I believe strongly in the power of prayer and have seen God’s love and healing power at work many times.
I enjoyed viewing the beautiful home of Patricia Altschul; what a gracious hostess. Every room is so different with the colors she has chosen, but still very opulent in their design. She really has collected some rare and wonderful items in her lifetime.
I was so glad to see Seven on Sunday this week. It’s the first thing I look for on Sunday when I get home from church. Have a great week.
Oh Tina, you did it to me again, have me sitting here with happy tears over Mitchell, the kid from Texas in your lovely little basketball video. Thank you for that!
Happy to hear that your niece is on the mend Tina. Pneumonia is very serious. Love all of the 7 on Sunday! I am off to check out the beautiful stationary.
As for healthy eating, I try to eat healthy 80% of the time but I LOVE baking and making “comfort foods” so I do splurge sometimes.
Have you checked out the March/April issue of Southern Lady. Great article on Montage Palmetto Bluff. Also lot of blue and white–everyone’s favorite!!!
I would love for you to share more about the resources you used (and found helpful) to educate yourself on eating healthier. I am mid-40’s and I realize that it’s harder to maintain weight and it’s only going to get harder (like you said). My parents are, thankfully, still alive but have hereditary diseases where healthy eating has proven to help. I am now thinking of my own longevity and my desire to stay in the clothes I love. Maybe it’s time I take the steps to clean up what I eat too. But it’s so hard!! My children (all boys, too!) love pizza and all that is NOT good for me!! Thanks for sharing your Seven on Sunday- it’s always my favorite post!!

Spring has arrived this week in coastal GA, so come on down y’all, but I fear you have two more long months up North. Love the lampshades!
Always a treat, healthy or “not so much.”? franki
I have never seen a 5/16 cup measurement in a recipe!
Very relieved to hear about your niece and her recovery and the joy in the family over that-God is so good.

I’m intimidated by 5/16 of a cup of mayo!
How much mayonnaise ?
So happy your niece is doing better.
Love the video. It doesn’t matter if you win or lose–it is how you play the game. These players did just that.
