We just returned from a few days at “the Bluff” and I must say I got into such a relaxed state of mind that I didn’t want to leave, it was hard to come back to cold NY. The weather was so wonderful, 70 and clear- doesn’t get better!
Though the bulk of the work is done there, we are still putting finishing touches on things here and there. A few exciting things happened this time. We got our foyer chest, our long awaited end tables and the rest of the blinds installed. Baby steps forward:)
Every time I go, I see little things I want to do but doing if from afar poses some challenges and it just takes a bit longer. I still want to wallpaper the main powder room, add a chair and ottoman to my bedroom, add a back chest to mudroom/back stair area, do a family gallery wall of favorite framed family pictures and have pretty much decided on adding a simple flat roman to the kitchen windows.
We finally finished all the blinds- we did these elegant flat Romans from Hunter Douglas and they were a great fit for the aesthetic of the house. So here’s a look at some of what happened last week or so-

Love having a front porch….so southern with a my own twist:)
Ahhhh, walking in, it still has that unmistakable “new house” smell and just feels so good walking in
We got in our pretty end tables from Chaddock Furniture (matches coffee table)
Still deciding on wallpapers for this powder room
Added blinds to the study/office. this is where I do my work when I am there:)
Added blinds to this living/lounge area in the guest suite above garage
Added this detail to all bathroom vanities and so happy I did, it really does add a lot to the overall look
Love this powder room in the cherry blossom grass cloth and finally had a place to use my navy bamboo lantern!
Really love my bedroom, it has such a beautiful view and is just such an ethereal space
Monogrammed bedding is a must! Now looking for a printed small accent pillow which I will also use on an upholstered chair for this room
This space feels like walking into a white fluffy cloud- now trying to find a bench for end of bed and a comfy chair and ottoman for near window
It feels so airy and lofty, love the ceiling detail and realty like having a fan!
Adore my master carpet too, from Stanton
The back stair/mudroom which needs a chest or console so we can finally hang this pretty mirror I got from Decor Market a few months ago
Bike riding is a part of the lifestyle in PB and I love it!
Really love my back kitchen- done in a soft blue lacquer just love this space. Decided on an all white display for the far wall of glass cabinets. Still have plenty more to get but this is a start.
Still smitten with my gorgeous metal hood!
I love the glow of the house at twilight and at night with just the lamps and sconces on, feels so welcoming and pretty
This view just never gets old:)

That’s a wrap for this month’s Bluff Diaries. Just putting this post together makes me want to click my heels and wish I could transport myself there right this very minute. Though we have made a lot of progress there is still a fairly long list of a lot of small things to make it just right. Getting there in small baby steps:) Thanks for stopping in, wishing you a great day!
Walking through this post and seeing PB through your eyes brought down my BP by about 20 points – honest! This was better than medicine! I thank you so much for sharing! Loving the blinds – they look like the most natural and appropriate possible choice. The work desk tucked into that space behind the sofa was such a surprise. That is a perfect place and so efficient. AND … that back kitchen “dusty” blue lacquer is stunning but so subtle! I’m glad you got the break and are sharing your Bluff Diaries. Appreciate it.
Tina if you had to choose to live in one of your houses and sell the other…..which one would you choose? Your homes are so different in size and design. I was just wondering which home you would choose?
Love this site, because I love blue and white. My mother decorated my bedroom in blue and white when I was ten. I’ve been smitten since then. Blue and white love~❤️
