Good morning! Well, I may have been  a little late out of the starting gate but this little elf made up for lost time! I did something that I haven’t done in years, used quite a bit of red. And you know what? I am loving it! I think paired with the blue and white, against the fresh greens, its a beautiful and a very merry combination. In my living room,  it does not work as the walls are yellow/gold (cannot wait to take down the paper its pretty but not “me”)

I will be sharing my living room decor next week, its nothing crazy but small pretty festive touches in softer tones to not overwhelm or compete with the walls. We had beautiful cedar put around the door frame and then I filled my planters with fresh greens and faux berries,  its just enough to say “Merry Christmas” and then upon walking into the foyer, you are greeted dead center by my tall beautiful tree decked out in blue/white with red bows. I even filled my blue and white jumbo ginger jars with greenery and red berries and I must say it makes me so happy walking into this space. I continued on with the theme into the dining room which I have shared (and will update next week) Click here if you missed it.

I didn’t think we would be here this Christmas so that kind of came as a surprise. But I made the best of things and once I got going, I was on a definite roll. I didn’t buy a single thing (except the red bows) I had everything here and then plenty still remains in the basement! One thing I am not in short supply of is Christmas decor.  Today is all about my tree and front door.  So, come on in and let me show you around…….

Front door, traditional elegant and undestated

Walking in! Yes, I know rug is way too small, remember everything here is temporary…..

For the planters it was just mixed greens and our faux berry picks. Many on Instagram asked about the planters, we have a handful left, click here for info

A very special offer on all ornaments and holiday gift wrap (see below)

I realized when decorating so much of why I did it was for my mom, I know how much she loved it and her oohs and ahh were what I lived for. So I have several framed pictures of her near the tree and hope she is enjoying it from above. Miss her so so much.

And at dusk when the lights start to shimmer and cast their glow

Hope you enjoyed seeing my tree and front door. I am so happy its done and up for us to all enjoy. We are going to host a small holiday cocktail party next week so this has also motivated me to get things wrapped up around here. Have only ordered 2 gifts so far but my goal remains to be done by Sat. Every day is getting busier than the previous so I am blocking periods of time to get things done around here.

Tomorrow is my birthday, so I’m giving myself the day off from any duties, responsibilities, obligations, etc……we all at least deserve one day don’t you think! But on Friday, it will be full stream ahead:)

Anyway thanks for stopping in, wishing everyone a wonderful day. Don’t forget to pace yourself, it’s easy to get caught up in the frenzy of the season, but remember it all works out in the end. Until next time…….

I keep waiting to love everything. It seems you have lost your aesthetic somewhere. I wish you would find it again.

Merry Christamas! Beautiful decorating. I don’t recall seeing the full entry hall as seen in these pictures. It’s so grand. Can’t wait to see all of your home after the remodel and new decor.

Tina! This is SO BEAUTIFUL. Thank you for sharing, I love how traditional it is and the red pops so beautifully. What a beautiufl home, didn’t think I could love another home as much as your last one but well, you have proved me wrong. You have the magic touch.
Merry merry to you and yours!

Absolutely beautiful. I bought a bunch of blue and white ornaments from you, they are so beautiful, now I think i need to add the red bows. Those old world details, you just don’t see anymore.
Love our front entrance, spectacular. To Dana above, you are so rude. If you don’t love it then move along. Tina, your taste is superb!

Wow, I don’t have the words to describe how exquisite this is! So, so beautiful, I’m sure your mom would love it. (btw, I still can’t get over your fabulous double grand staircase … in my dreams!!). Thanks for sharing your stately tree and elegant decorations ~ you are an inspiration indeed! Merry Christmas!

Tina, the foyer and front door are beautiful!
And, Happy Birthday just a little early!
I wish for you and your family a wonderful, restful, lovely Christmas.

I miss my mother too. She also loved the holidays. She always made them special. God bless you and your mother. Merry Christmas! Love your blog.

Beautiful!! It looks so festive. The tree must have taken days to decorate, I don’t know how you do it!
Would love to know where you got the red bows.

Tina, Your home looks beautiful! I love the touches of red! Happy Birthday and Enjoy the day 🙂

P.S. I find Dana’s comment very rude and disrespectful and couldn’t disagree with her more! Please remove it, we don’t need her negativity.

As always your home is beautiful. I so look forward to seeing how you decorate for the holidays. You never disappoint, and what a stunning entrance. I’m sure your dear mom is loving your new home and that lovely tree. A very happy birthday to you, Tina.

Happy birthday! Love how the tree looks when you open the front door, turned out perfectly. 🎄🎄

Perfection! I love looking through your festive front door and seeing that majestic tree waiting. Your mama is proud! I think about (and talk to) my mother while decorating, too. Merry Christmas!

Tina, everything is lovely! The front door pots and greenery make such an inviting and dramatic entry. You always have such classic taste. And those stairways!!! When you get done with the redecorating of this house it’s going to be fabulous!!
My precious mother is gone too. She loved Christmas and making things special. She taught us ‘if you can’t say something nice to someone, don’t say anything at all’. I think Dana needed a mom like our moms.
Enjoy your new home for Christmas with your special family🎄❤️
And thanks for continuing to make our world a better and more beautiful place.

Tina Your foyer is stunning and your tree looks so beautiful. You’ve had a lot on your plate this year. I don’t know how you manage it all; but you do it well and with such grace. I got an early start on my holiday preparations and fell behind with my mother n law’s hospital stay and care after discharge. . She’s home and on the mend and agreed to look into a wonderful senior living home. Thank goodness. I promised her we would still have lots of fun. I hope you enjoy every minute of this fabulous time is year. You deserve it. Best, Fanny

Everything is beautiful and so festive!! Have a very Happy Birthday!! Enjoy your special day!!
