Hello and happy Sunday to you! Hope you are enjoying a pleasant weekend. Well, looks like our snow this past week, fingers crossed,  might have finally been our last. Today the sun is trying to come out and hopefully will melt some of that snow to make way for the flowers that want to bloom:)  Hardly spring weather considering it’s in the 40’s but I know we are inching our way towards warmer weather and blue skies (and many garden center trips)!

Hope you have had a wonderful weekend, ours has been very nice and today is all about no agenda, relaxing and doing as I please! Let’s get going with this Seven on Sunday…..

1  WHAT A SWEET STORY! If you haven’t seen this, you must. It just warmed my heart to see these young adult basketball stars giving such love to Sister Jean aka “their good luck charm”, just love how basic goodness and humanity transcends age, and you just know being this special cheerleader for this team is adding years to her already long life of 98 years, very very sweet.

Not to mention (and I know nothing about college basketball and the frenzy of the college brackets) but Loyola is sort of an underdog who is surprising many…and to think it might be in part due to their special “good luck charm”

2 A RECIPE WORTH SHARING  Back to “being good”. I must admit I fell off the diet bandwagon and was not happy about it, but I am back on with many things coming up and of course summer is always an incentive. So we are back to a healthy style of eating, got rid of any junk and have loaded up on lots of vegetables and healthy choices. It feels better already.

You know I like to share really good recipes when I come across them! So tried this (twice) and must say it is delicious, really really good especially if yo are trying to be good, it’s low fat so guilt free, a major perk! I made this once just with the zucchini and once with chicken cut up very small, it was delicious and super satisfying. Found the recipe at Cucina de Yung

Stir Fry Zucchini Noodles Recipe (Zoodles!)

Ingredients
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 yellow onions , spiralized
4 small zucchini , spiralized, patted dry with paper towel
1 tablespoon low sodium soy sauce (I used a quick dash, ,less than 1 tablespoon)
2 tablespoons low sodium teriyaki sauce ( used 1/2 a tablespoon, very little but it still came out great)
1 tablespoon sesame seeds

3 INSTAGRAMS OF INTEREST This is one of my favorite parts of these Sunday posts, finding lots of beautiful pictures on Instagram to save and share with you, plus it’s fun to discover new accounts which inevitably I do every week. Here is this weeks roundup-

4. DARLING GIRLS DRESSES AND A GIVEAWAY. One of my “blogging buddies”, Marsha of Splenderosa has opened a small online boutique, Lala Land (love the name)  for super affordable, darling girls frocks. For anyone who has a young daughter or graundaughter, you should absolutely check out the site, the prices can’t be beat and the dresses are so sweet. Marsha  has generously offered a dress of your choosing as a giveaway for my Enchanted Home readers!

THE GIVEAWAY-

Just visit her site, click here and include in the comments today that you want to be included for the giveaway and I will announce a winner on Tues.

5. TULIPERE FEVER!  I love getting pictures from my super talented customers, just look at some of the recent ones of tulipieres I have gotten, it is most definitely tulip fever now that spring is finally at our doorstep! Love seeing all of the various color and floral combinations at work.  Keep em coming….

6. THE HAPPINESS CLASS I read this in the NY Times and was  completely fascinated yet somehow not surprised. Guess what the most popular class is at Yale University? The happiness class or Psychology and the Good Life as it is officially known, it is a class that is a pass/fail with little emphasis on a “grade” and homework.  Rather Professor Lory Santos chooses to concentrate on helping her students become happier, better rounded people.

Given the statistics that Yale has estimated that nearly half of their undergraduates, HALF, had at some point, sought out mental health care, that is to me, an astounding number. Clearly given the packed auditorium and what she teaches, many are seeking a happier life. And I am quire sure it’s not just 20 years old at Yale but all across our country.

Maybe every school needs to consider making something along this line, mandatory. It’s not only about the IQ but increasingly realized that the EQ is just as important. Click here to read the entire article, really interesting.

7  SUNDAY’S SURVEY. OK, so this has to do with technology which I seem to have a love/hate relationship with all the time. A subject we are all familiar with on some level or another. I have a love/hate relationship with it. Example- I started very recently using the calendar in my iPhone, maybe I depended on it a bit too much and missed an appt because the alert had somehow not gone off. I realized then and there I do not want to be dependent on a gadget for my schedule keeping and important info recognizing nearly all the millennials would beg to differ:)

I was furious so marched my way to Staples and bought a mini organizer for my purse, which is how I operated for YEARS. Cannot tell you how happy this little purchase made me, I love writing things down and being able to cross things off and not being so dependent on a gadget. Feels like old time and I am loving it:)

Then again I do. love my phone and iPad for picture taking so here goes my question- are you a 100% devoted to your gadgets and only rely on your phone to keep appts, contacts,etc…..or do you still use a more “antiquated” method of appt keeping (like using a traditional little book and writing things in)? Curious….

Please include me in the Lalaland giveaway. I saw so many dresses I loved for my eight year old niece.

The dresses are the cutest play clothes I have seen! The price point is so reasonable!

Good morning Tina! The LaLa Land dresses are adorable and so creative, not to mention so adorable! So wonderful to have a company who recognizes what little girls love, and their moms and grandmothers can enjoy buying them for them to wear in the brief time of childhood! I would love to win one for my granddaughter ( just wish they were in larger sizes too for my other one! )

Good morning and a Happy & Blessed Palm Sunday to you and yours.
What adorable dresses and the prices are reasonable. Would love to win one for my littlest granddaughter, Amanda!

Loved visiting this darling Lala Land site. The dresses are so cute and so affordable. My Granddaughter would love wearing them – just her style!

How cute is the hydrangea print and the off the shoulder style dress!! Please include me.

I can’t wait to use my tulipieres for Easter. Please include me in the Lara Land giveaway. The dresses are wonderful! I love the navy dress with fruit, the pineapple cold shoulder dress is darling and her pink dress with fish and roses is so funny, but perfect for living in Florida!
Thank you,
Deri

My old and only grand daughter loses dresses! Her nick name is LaLa. Personality plus and cute as all get out. I haven’t used or heard that expression for years. Enter me in the random drawing please.
This pass week especially, it seems more people are declaring to be Facebook free and social media use us down for a certain group too. I see groups of people in waiting rooms , restaurants with heads bent to look at their cell brains. It’s not a pretty sight. I will try to wean myself off of this habit.
Happy Palm Sunday

I just posted about my one grand daughter loves dresses. Well due to the brain in my smart phone I should have proof read my post. Shame on me ,another reason to start writing again not tapping little letters on a phone. Good Grief

I would love to be included in the dress giveaway. Four year old granddaughter……..

Such darling dresses at affordable prices and I’ve got 4 granddaughters ??‍♀️??‍♀️????As far as phone calendars go, I work for a dentists and can’t tell you how many patients miss their appt. because of it.

Great post, Tina!
Can’t wait to try the recipe, added some instagrams, and LOVED the idea of the happiness class! I wish they offered them everywhere! Why not?
Love Marsha’s dresses! Add me to the list!
Happy Sunday,
Teresa

I would be delighted to be included in the drawing for a LaLa Land dress. Even more delighted if I could pass it on to my granddaughter.

It is intriguing that young people are doing University classes in happiness and leading a Good Life. One of the essential elements for happiness is said to be community involvement and/or giving back to your community. I have certainly found that since joining Rotary International I have become happier and more fulfilled than my life before. Doing things to help my fellow travellers on this Earth is deeply satisfying. I know that my actions are helping to make this world a more peaceful place by bringing health and dignity to others. My club has built a kindergarten in a remote village in Fiji, then rebuilt it when it was destroyed in a cyclone, and it has protected the water supply there. It has built an adventure playground in Peru for children who have no access to things that they climb and swing from. We have helped to almost eradicate Polio, and to eliminate Trachoma from Aboriginal communities. We are building a local bus shelter, sending local children on life-changing leadership courses, putting sports programs in local schools, helping local families through a crisis, and rebuilding our local hall. I highly recommend joining Rotary or another service club to improve your sense of worthwhileness and happiness. This way young people and people of all ages can really create a truly Good Life.

I don’t have a Granddaughter or know any little girls so I don’t need to be added to the dress giveaway, but I just wanted to say how I adore those dear little dresses. Congratulations, Marsha on creating such a beautiful line of clothes for little girls.

Omg. With 4 granddaughters o would love to be included in the drawing. They are wonderful designs. And a great price. Trying to sign up for their emails. Thanks

Thank you for sharing the two stories. The one about Sister Jean made me so happy and the other about the Happiness class was very interesting. I really enjoy your blog.

Tina my sisters daughter just started Yale and knows very well about the Professor Santos class, she cannot wait to take it. She said there are waitlists for it. WHY then are they not offered in every high school and college? As you said it’s not only Yalie’s feeling the pressure and lack of happiness in their lives.
Thank for your varied Sunday posts, way more enjoyable then reading the paper! I would love to win a dress for my 5 year old niece, Chloe. I think my own daughter who is 14 might feel these are a bit too young but they are really adorable and so reasonable.
Have a nice Sunday.

My little granddaughter is just now getting old enough to wear size 18 months and those dresses will be so cute on her. Can’t wait! Please enter me in the contest. Love love love Seven on Sunday!!!

Tina,
Great post today. I would love to be included in the dress giveaway. They are all so adorable!

Sending both the video on Sister Jean and the link to the NY Times article to both my college aged kids, think they would enjoy it and I think the class could resonate with any college aged kid. Good topics.

I will try your recipe, any I have tried have become regulars in our household, The Caesar was a big hit! The photos of the tulipieres are so beautiful, I bought one and now think I need a pair! Thanks for your blog.

Tina,
Love the dresses! The price is very reasonable and the soft knit ones would suit my cute granddaughter just right!

Those girls dresses are a good deal. My mother was paying that much for my Polly Flinders 30+ years ago. I wish I had a little girl to buy them for.

I always look forward to Seven on Sunday. Please include me in your dress giveaway. We have a six month old granddaughter, Ellie.

Please include me in the dress giveaway!! The dresses are precious and the prices are great. I love the classic designs! Will follow this shop for my 3 year old granddaughter.

Love the LaLaLand dresses. Love the fabric and the styling. I have 3 granddaughters 6-11, so please include me in the drawing!
I use my phone for all calendars and appointments for both my husband and me. But I still make paper lists for groceries, errands, etc. It is very satisfying to scratch things off the list.

I have two young granddaughters – 1 and 4, And would love to be included in the giveaway. Thank you.

The dresses are darling!! Would love to see one on my granddaughter!!! I was happy to see that I am in the majority when it homes to “gadget” keeping calendar vs. old school pen and paper calendar. I love my little pocket calendar!!

Thank you for letting your readers know about LaLa Land. My youngest granddaughter is very much a “girly girl” and would wear every dress. I especially love the dress with the hydrangeas on it. Whenever I see hydrangeas, it always reminds me of my grandparents. They lived in California and had huge bushes of Nikko Blue Hydrangeas. I would like to be included in the drawing for LaLa Land and I would give the dress to my granddaughter.

I loved your survey this week because, like you, I prefer to do things the “old school” way. I use my phone for a calls, camera, and texting. But, for appointments, I have a calendar in my purse and a bigger one at home, that my husband and I work off of. We are both retired but still busy, and my calendar system hasn’t failed me yet. Enjoy your Sunday, Tina.

Thank you for sharing the LaLa Land site. With four little girls under two, I’m thrilled to find these adorable dresses and would love to be considered for the giveaway!

Precious clothes! My niece is having a baby soon….Anything here would be a perfect gift for her baby!

Would love to surprise my niece with such a springy dress! What a sunshine it would make for her!

Those are darling dresses and would love to win one for my granddaughter whose birthday is in May.

I would like to be considered for the LALALAND giveaway.

I like written calendars too!!!!

I just love the bamboo butterfly dress from Lala Land for my six year old granddaughter! I am a big fan of traditional looking dresses for little girls and look forward to shopping at this site! Well done! Thank you, Tina, for sharing and entering me in the contest.

Such adorable dresses from LaLaLand! I have 3 grand nieces – Please include me in the drawing.

I have a 5 year old granddaughter that would love a LaLa Land dress. So nice to hear about this affordable new resource. Congrats to Marsha of Splenderosa on her new enterprise. I loved the blue applique flower dress. I had heard about that Happiness class at Yale. I’m not surprised that Yale students seek mental health services. Having had 5 kids go thru college I have seen how stressful it is for high achieving students at very selective colleges. Good thing they are seeking help and taking great classes like that. Happy Sunday!

I use an old timey blackberry and not a day goes by that someone doesn’t make a little fun…don’t care…I am not (overly) hassled
with advertisements, keep a low profile technologically and I don’t feel like I’m wasting time! (all complaints I regularly hear)

Hi Tina! I have 2 baby girls due this Fall and am so excited, one being my first grandchild! I adore the little dresses on Marsha’s site and would love to be entered in the drawing.

Another great Sunday post. I love all you discussed from the Sister Jean story to the Happiness class at Yale (my alma mater) and I can you tell you there was nothing like it at that time!
We make a similar dish to your zucchini which is very good, full of nutrients and almost no calories. Try adding scallions and mushrooms too.
Great customer pictures I will have to send mine in after I am done taking. notes!

Marsha’s dresses put me in LaLa Land as I found so many cute things my little granddaughter would love. I would be delighted to be included in the giveaway.

Oh and I 100% use my phone for everything, it makes life so simple. I don’t remember the last time I wrote an appt or someones name and number down, it is rather freeing. Takes a little time to get used to but once you do you see how easy it is.

Love the girls’ dresses from LaLaLand! It’s so refreshing to see fun prints and cheerful colors done in a tasteful style! Please include me in your Sunday giveaway. Thank you.

Please enter me in today’s giveaway, Lala Land dresses look absolutely adorable for my 3 young daughters!

First – please add me to the list for the darling LaLa contest. Adorable prints and styles and so well priced. Please add me to the contest list.
Second – I have used my month At-A-Glance calendar for years and would be lost without it. Writing in appointments,
changing times if needed – all makes so much more sense to me. I have to look at the whole month to schedule appropriately and not over-book. Just can’t master it on a phone. Everything else – give me my iPhone!
Third – love your blog – recipes – ongoing photos of your beloved Teddy – photos – all of it!

The dresses are beautiful (what a talent) and anyone of them would look good on my sweet granddaughter! Always look forward to your Seven on Sunday posts.

I order a planner from Minted every year with the cover title “Trantham House 2018” of course each current year. I use it for all my appointments and personal to do lists such as reminders to send gifts for birthdays, weddings and births. When I am on short trips I take a photo of the pages and then look at them on my phone. I keep a beautiful wall calendar in my kitchen and a daily inspirational tear off calendar on one of my desks. I use lots of apps on my phone for daily routine use like maps, weather, real estate. I also follow on Instagram and Pintrest. I am not a big fan of Facebook, seldom look at twitter. So I guess I am in both the new and old school. Thanks for asking- love seeing the results of your poll. I would wonder what the demographic is of the replies.

I love the icloud function that automatically adds my contacts and calendar entries to my desktop (MAC). I set alarms, get directions easily when tapping on the addresses… My husband is old school. I hope he never leaves his organizer at a client or loses it as it would be devastating to his business. I can look back easily 1,2,3..years back to see when certain events happened.

Marsha’s collection are is colorful, affordable and torally sweet. Count me in on this giveaway.

Oops, forgot to mention I would like to be included in the giveaway as I have one delightful granddaughter after being surrounded by ten males

Thank you for sharing the information about LalaLand! The dresses are adorable and with three granddaughters to date, I anticipate visiting this site often! Please enter me in the drawing for a dress!

Lala Land is my new favorite store my my two granddaughters! Ordered a slew of too cute dresses. Thanks for the tip!!

What IS IT about snow and…calories…gaaaa!! THANX for the recipe! Luv the ooh, la la dresses!! franki

Beautiful dresses! Will have to remember Lala Land when granddaughters arrive. . . . I am a bit betwixt and between–use the calendar on my phone with alerts (and back it up with another calendar app just in case!) and then write my weekly schedule down on my desk calendar. Kind of a belt and suspenders approach I suppose, but it seems to work for me! Happy Easter~

In my opinion happiness is found only from our creator. The things of the world are wonderful but dont fulfill long term. People are not perfect and will disappoint us hence we have to realize peace and happiness come from someone beyond this world regardless of circumstances

I’d love to be included in the dress giveaway. My 5-year-old twin granddaughters would love those dresses.

Thank you for bringing The Happiness Class to the attention of your readers. Mental health for our young people is such an important issue. This is an issue that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and Prince Harry, have worked on over the past few years in the UK, as well. I hope they persevere in supporting this worthwhile cause. What struck me most about the photos of the class at Yale were how many young men were enrolled! And not an empty seat! Clearly, this is filling a need within this college community. I mention the participation of the young men for a reason. I am not a psychologist, but I am the mother of two amazing young men (ages 15 and 19). It is my opinion that we have spent the last several generations building up the self-confidence and esteem of our daughters (and as a female attorney, I say amen to that!), but, in doing so, I am afraid our young men have been left out. Please, I am not talking about the bad behavior of older adult men in power who abuse that power. I am talking about subtle shifts in priorities that leave boys and young men feeling unimportant and left out of the conversation. The shift is not always overt, but our young men are getting the message that their feelings are not important, or, at best, that their feelings are subservient to those of women. If anyone is interested in this I refer you to the excellent “The Trouble With Boys,” by Peg Tyre. The book is an apolitical look at these subtleties. I wish I had read this sooner. I would have advocated differently within my sons’ school. There were things I knew were off (taking away recess in 2nd grade as a punishment – kids that age need to move; to the majority of books on the reading list being geared towards girls – boys learn differently and should be encouraged to read what makes them happy). Recent events are showing us adults that we need to truly listen to our kids, all of our kids, male and female.

Those dresses are the cutest that I have seen in quite some time!! Would love for my great nieces!

Happy Sunday All!
Love the LaLa Land Little girls’ dresses. Am definitely sending the link to a dear friend whose widowed son is getting remarried this fall in the orchard on their property and whose daughter is going to be the flower girl. Very well-priced as well!
As for technology – I love my phone but still like a ‘paper trail’.
Can’t remember the last time I cooked real pasta as hubby is on a low-carb diet and I’ve started as well. Love using zucchini noodles or spaghetti squash as a pasta substitute when I get those pasta cravings. Let’s face it – when you add a bit of olive oil, garlic and shredded aged parm, what’s not to love?

I love, love, love the La La Land Dresses. I have two precious granddaughters Abigail is 9 and wears a size 7 and Amelia is 6 and wears a size 6. Thanks for you post.

Always looking for new children’s clothing now that I’m a Mimmi! Would love to be included in the give away!

I have to admit that spring and summer dresses are my favorite for them .Yes, please include me in the give away, my husband would be most grateful ?

Please include me in the La La Land giveaway. I love the white eyelet with bow in back dress, it is just a classic beautiful little girls dress. Let’s hope that Spring and warm weather will arrive soon. The peak date for the Washington, DC cherry blossoms has been moved back to April 8-12. If anyone has not yet enjoyed the blossoms in Washington, it is certainly a beautiful experience to walk the Tidal Basin under a canopy of delicate pink and white blossoms. Happy Easter! MM

Love the children’s dress site! Saw several that will be perfect for my granddaughter!

Excited to see the Pre Sale on Melamine coming up!!!

You’ve the BEST of the best.

OH my goodness! I love all the Lala Land dresses. They are by far the sweetest and most reasonable dresses for little girls that I have seen. I will definitely be a customer and recommend to friends!

Oh my! Those dresses are darling!! I’d love to be entered into the drawing! My niece would be crazy over a beautiful new dress!!

So delighted that you mentioned Sister Jean Delores and the Loyola Chicago basketball team. She was my 8th grade grammar school teacher (many, many) years ago and not only was she an excellent teacher but had the ability to control a class of 78 students in one room. This was at St. Charles grammar school in Toluca Lake, CA., a suburb of Los Angeles. She also skyped our class reunion several years ago and was as sharp then as we all remembered. My fingers are crossed that “her” Ramblers go all the way.

Cotton and natural fibers! Lined! Great pricing! Icing on the cake…. they’re adorable and unique!!
Thank you, Marsha! And thank YOU, Tina, for introducing LaLa Land to us. Ready to place an order for daughters of 11, 9 and 6 years old.
Thank you kindly for including us in the give-away.

I would love to be in the drawing for the Lala Land dress. So excited to know about this line. They are adorable!

Hi Tina
Great post! I checked LaLa Land and just love the dresses! I ordered one for my granddaughter who is 4 months.
Thank you for sharing!
Lucy

Hi Tina
I forgot to add that I attended a lecture at DePauw University ( both my husband and daughter are alumni ) by Douglas A. Smith. He teaches a course titled “The Skills of Happiness.” His book “Happiness: The Art of Living with Peace, Confidence and Joy” is an excellent read. His class is also very much in demand.
Have a great week
Lucy
