Can you believe it’s chapter 40 and to think most of you were here with me from the very start! So we just got back from my happy place aka Palmetto Bluff and the second round of furniture arrived during this stay. That is when it really started feeling like home. I cannot tell you how much I love this house. It is a perfect home, it is big enough to comfortably allow for our family plus guests but not so big that it’s overwhelming.

I love the master on the first floor, and the super open floor plan. It just is a “feel good” home which is flooded with tons of sunlight, bright even on an overcast day. Seeing the rest of the furniture come in was so exciting. Though the two moving days were exhausting and we worked our buns off…it was as I said earlier the best kind of deliriousness.

So with almost all the furniture in place (still waiting on 3-4 pieces) and plenty of accessorizing left to do…this house is really starting to feel like home. In fact, I must admit it was really hard to leave. I love the pace in PB, the people, the civility, and I always find myself in a much more relaxed state when I am there. Funny thing, everyone that goes there says the very same thing.  There really is a peace of mind that comes over you once you enter those gates, and that is no exaggeration!

It was exciting getting to do a lot of “firsts”, cooking my first meal, eating our first al fresco meal on the porch, even washing my first batch of clothes felt a little exhilarating! We also got to entertain and enjoy the house with 14 of my favorite family members including the highlight, celebrating my grandmother’s 101st birthday! YES I said 101!

So yes, we love it and are so thrilled with how everything has come out…exactly as I had dreamed and hoped it would. So enough of my talking, let me show you around as to how things looked the few days after the moving truck came. As anyone knows with a new house, it takes about a year before you have every last thing in place, but think we are off to a good start-

_____________________________

Moving truck showed up full of all that we needed to make turn this house into a home:)

The front porch served as a temporary staging area:)

We have chairs (from EJ Victor)

These are so good looking and super comfortable, loved that we watched the legs to the tones of the floor (a more weathered oak)

Gorgeous sofas from EJ Victor and the fabulous oversized cocktail from Chaddock Furniture came out even prettier than I expected…always a good thing! These sofas are literally the most comfortable ones I have ever sat on

S

Isn’t the cocktail beautiful!

Had this beautiful trestle bench made (fabric from Stark) beautiful nickel lanterns from Circa Lighting

Stools from Vanguard as many have asked, orchid from me:) Still having a love affair with my gorgeous hood!

Lunch for the moving men…..with a front row seat to The World Cup!

Pretty smaller sectional for study (Vanguard) and carpet I had made as an area rug from Rosecore (part of Stanton carpets)

Small desk behind sofa and pretty chair where I will do my blogging:)

Meanwhile in the living room, some of the porcelains I had sent down are unpacked and in their holding pen waiting for distribution!

The beautiful pillows as part of The Palmetto Bluff collection with Studio Tullia waiting to be placed

Decided on this paper for one powder room along with my navy lantern (from my shop)

It’s starting to look like a living room!

Using the outside end tables for now inside since they won’t be in for a few months, these were bedroom lamps we are using temporarily in living room

Ahhh…….love these pillows!

At long last my bed arrived…..it came last time but they were missing some parts, love it!

And you know for me flowers are a so important, so in anticipation of family coming in….got some pretty hydrangeas to add a welcoming touch

Outside on the covered porch my  Provence planters await their boxwoods

And here they are!

Loved seeing my beloved planters on the front porch, the perfect finishing touch!

Good night Palmetto Bluff

I truly love this place, it really is my happy place and I am dreaming of going back as soon as possible!

It was so wonderful to be able to share it with our family, it felt complete having everyone there under one roof. I look forward to continuing to share with you the various stages as the house will continue to evolve………and I want to  thank you for following along with me on this fun journey.

I like to periodically include this wonderful video which captures the essence of Palmetto Bluff so well….going there really does mean, slowing down, decompressing and finally getting to exhale and relax. A very special place that I feel lucky to now call part time home. Can’t think of a nicer way to end this post-

Until next time………

PS For anyone who has had their eye on the gorgeous Provence planters, a new flash sale just started this morning and is on for a few days. They are all priced at the summer’s lowest selling price as we are down to our last bit of them, click here to see the sale.

Also, where did the upholstered bed in what appears to be the master come from? Thank you for always being so gracious to share your resources. Cheers to you and yours for many happy and healthy years together in Palmetto Bluff,,,,,make new friends but keep the old..One is silver, the other is gold…

? Home Sweet Home, Tina you did a beautiful job! Happy memories to You and your Family. I am inspired by your choices. Enjoy! ?

Beautiful. We are in the beginning stages of building our home there and this blog will be so helpful. Thank you so much for posting and sharing !

Oh my Lord, can’t imagine ever leaving PB. The house is beautiful and your finishing touches make it. Thanks for including us on the journey.

Everything is coming together and looking so good! I hope you make so many wonderful memories, that you will treasure forever! There really is nothing better than living on the water, in the south!

It all looks so serene and inviting. Very few people would host a celebration for family smack dab in the middle of moving and then even think to have something special for the movers, including entertainment. How thoughtful you are! Y0u are something else, Tina.

Your new home in Palmetto Bluff is really gorgeous! I love all the textures in the rugs and fabrics. The colors you have chosen are so calming, it just makes you want to curl up with a good book on the couch and say, “Ah.” You are correct when you state that it takes about a year to really get established in a new home. I will have been in my new home one year on July 21, 2018, and I think I finally have everything the way my husband and I want it. I was constantly moving accessories and changing out pillows, etc. Thank you for sharing this experience with your readers.

Thrilled for you that you are so happy with your new home. It is gorgeous!! Palmetto Bluff is everything you described. Truly a magical place!

After seeing your lovely home , and watching the short film , all about palmetto bluff , iam hooked !!!!
And would love to vist this place some time

Thanks so much Tina …..
Hazel Manchester. U.K.

I love the look of the Lutyens benches on the front porch, the tile to ceiling in the kitchen, especially love that there is a little gold in the gray and white subway tiles, the bench under the window with Stark fabric is perfection! I have one of your large gray ginger jars at my house and have a similar colorway of furnishings, I love this jar. You are helping me with the revamp of our house. Most of all, so wonderful that the family was there to enjoy it with you. Sharing joy is the best.

Thank you for sharing your PB home with us. It is coming together beautifully. I expected it would; as you are gifted with elegant taste. What a pleasure and blessing to celebrate your grandmothers 101st birthday. Enjoy your summer!

Congratulations on your beautiful new vacation home
I’d love to be right there with you!!!

There is one thing you have never shown on all of your posts of PB, the actually house plans. Would love to see them. If only a sketch.

What style is your EJ Victor sofa and what custom options did you choose? Also, is it only available to the trade? I love it!!

I am glad you are blessed to
Live in PB. Could you tell us the wallpaper pattern you chose cor bathroom ?

I just love this house and how it has come along. What fun to have watched it get built. We built a home about 2 years ago and I really enjoyed the experience but can’t imagine doing it from so far away. I give you a lot of credit and your choices are stellar, everything from you beautiful and welcoming front porch to the great room right out to the back porch is perfect. How nice that you were able to celebrate both the housewarming and your grandmothers birthday at one time. That is very special.

I got my porcelain order, everything is so beautiful. I had fun “playing house” yesterday!

Hi Tina, we also have a part time home at PB, absolutely love it!your home is beautiful, such perfection! We live around the corner from you (Game Land) same architect too, anyway I’d like to order planters, just not sure what size since I’m back in CA. Do you have Medium or Large on your front porch? Also what size on back porch? Do you sell the boxwoods? Thanks in advance!

You did such an outstanding job, Tina. I see your trademark touches of elegant living everywhere. I literally love every single space and could not name a favorite but I can imagine how nice it must be to sit on that outside porch on a nice evening.

The kitchen and hood are beautiful. I have filed those pictures away as we are going to be undertaking a massive renovation in the fall of a 14,000 sq foot 80 year old tudor! Excited but nervous about such a big project. I will be looking to your blog and many of your informative previous posts for ideas and direction. Thank you and hope you create many many happy memories in your new vacation home.

Thank you for sharing your beautiful new home! It’s been great fun watching the process. Please share info on the front door paint and hardware. Love the lanterns!! Thank you!!

TINA,
WOW, I JUST LOVE EVERYTHING YOU DID IN YOUR NEW HOME. YOU HAVE BEAUTIFUL TASTE!
I AM BUILDING IN KIAWAH AND I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW THE PAINT COLOR OF YOUR BUTLER’S PANTRY CABINETS?

Tina your home is stunningly beautiful! There is something so exciting and energizing about moving into a new home….RIGHT!
Congratulations and KUDOS for a an amazing job well done.

I love it! The colors are so calming–it’s all lovely. One of my favorites is the Stark trestle bench (I’ve been looking for ideas–thanks very much!)

This is what I would call “house perfection” just love the style, colors and openness- you really did a beautiful job!

Southern front porches are painted “haint blue” on the exterior porch ceiling, is there a reason you didn’t go that route❓

Just one more question Tina. What is the name of the brick used for the front walk, steps, foundation and fireplace on the porch? Thanks

Your home is beautiful and I cannot wait to see it continue to unfold. Do you happen to know what brick color/brand was used on the foundation and steps?
