Hi everyone,  hope this finds you doing well…hard to believe we are in the month of May!! I hope to be in Palmetto Bluff with visiting friends when you read this. So prepared this a few days ahead of time, fingers crossed it posts on time!

Spring feels like its fading away and we are slowly walking into summer mode, we have already had a few 80 degree days so it gave me a taste of what’s to come. Praying for nothing over 85 lol. I am really looking forward to start planting things and figured mid May is safe to do so. Nothing like watching something grow from the ground up, especially hen you can eat it:) OK, onward to my post this weekend….

1 MY LONG LASTING TULIPS!! I have had these tulips for 12 days and counting. My secret? Putting them in small clusters in small cups in the fridge over night. They, 12 days later look like they did the day I got them.

So they were the perfect inspiration for playing around for a small luncheon that I will host later this month. Took out the beautiful blue tulip plates as a part of our collaboration with Carolyne Roehm. (Another fabulous tablescape featuring this down below)

2  A FEW FAVORITE SKIN CARE PRODUCTS LATELY I have increasingly been more interested in taking care of my skin so have been trying a number of different products. I have not done botox, fillers, etc…and trying to hold off for as long a possible! I have a few new things that are potentially game changers but am waiting another few weeks to report on them. Meanwhile these have became staples for me-

LOVE this rich emollient Vitamin C with turmeric drop from Sunday Riley. Makes me skin feel so nourished and glows! Click here

Spoke of this gentle peel by Earthen after using it a few weeks but now I have been using these longer and LOVE this product. My skin literally feels like a baby cheek when I use this gentle peel. Sloughs off all the dead skin and is a game changer. I have since received a number of their products and just started using them, will report back! But this one is a big fat  YES! I was told a lot of the Victoria Secret models used/use this before the big shows. Click here

If you have highlighted hair, this shampoo is amazing. I know its not my imagination that after a good wash, my highlights brighten up. I only get full highlights 3x a year so this shampoo has become a must have for me!

In the summer I prefer lighter fragrances and often wear one of my all time favorites, Beach by Bobbi Brown, if you want a fragrance that will transport you right to the sandy shores of a tropical beach then look no further. I always get lots of compliments when I wear this one. If you are looking for a great summer scent, highly recommend this one! Click here (its actually on sale at Nordstrom)

3 INSTAGRAMS OF INTEREST A bounty of beauty!

4 SNEAK PEEK OF WHATS COMING UP ON OUR PORCELAIN PRESALE THIS WEEK! So much to love! Here just a sampling of what will be offered on our porcelain presale coming up this week! I know many are waiting on the cabbage plates and some of our products that we have been sold out of for several months are coming back (finally)! This is a really good one, sale will begin either Tues or Wed morning.

5 A VERY TASTY MARGARITA I am no mixologist but when I was at JFK airport on my way to Amsterdam, we had the most delicious (outside of Mexico) margarita that I have ever had. It was loaded with citrus which is probably what made it so tasty, so I tried to recreate it, and I think I came pretty close!

The only thing I did not have was fresh lime that day, otherwise would have added a few chunks of cut lime but the cut up orange slices really gave it a great flavor! Think this is a great drink for the warmer months ahead

(You need a cocktail shaker, ice, cocktail glass and jigger)

  • 2 Tablespoon coarse sea salt or kosher salt, optional, for a salted rim
  • 2 oz. triple sec
  • 3 oz. tequila
  • 2 oz. fresh orange juice OR a slice of orange cut up and muddled into glass
  • 2 oz. fresh lime juice (also used a fresh lime wedge in glass and muddled it with the orange)
  • 1 oz. fresh lemon juice (optional)

Pour all liquids overs ice in cocktail shaker. Mix really well until cold. Use orange or lime slice along rim of glass and dip in margarita salt. Add orange and lime slices into glass, pour mix over, muddle with a small spoon and enjoy!

Tina, loved your recent coffee photo at Palmetto Bluff. When we visited there 2 years ago, the homes were cheek to jowl. You must have a nice slice of acreage to be not on top of your neighbor. We, unfortunately, didn’t see the options for that. However, your property looks very beautiful. During the summer we travel to our mountain home, as the summers in Phoenix are just too hot. Happy Sunday! Love your tulips!

Love a citrusy margarita—giving your recipe a try. I agree 100% Jessica sets a beautiful table and is a talented taste-maker too.
I’m praying that we have more Spring days—we have had a few scorchers here in western PA. Wishing you a beautiful weekend in PB.

The key to a great margarita is ….key lime….not regular limes. Learned this from a chef in Mexico!
